Many teams and members from the NBCC have competed in the annual World/U.S. Amateur Team East Chess Championship (USATE), the largest team event in chess history. Listed below are the teams who have earned the prestigious title of Top Connecticut Team at this world-class chess retreat. In addition, a team from the club won the USATE award for the best team name in 2009 ("I Can See Russians From My Board!"), a team from the club won the USATE award for the best costume in 2019 ("Prawn Sacrifice"), and four members have earned perfect scores at USATE: Douglas Fiske - three years, Nelson Castaneda - two years (one year as a NBCC member and one year before becoming a NBCC member), Yogesh Raghunathan - one year, and Mac Gomes - one year.
