The NBCC History at the World/United States Amateur Team East Chess Championship

Many teams and members from the NBCC have competed in the annual World/U.S. Amateur Team East Chess Championship (USATE), the largest team event in chess history. In almost every year from 2007 until 2018, one of our teams has earned the prestigious title of Top Connecticut Team at this world-class chess retreat. In addition, a team from the club won the USATE award for the best team name in 2009 ("I Can See Russians From My Board!"), and four members have earned perfect scores at USATE: Douglas Fiske - three years, Nelson Castaneda - one year, Yogesh Raghunathan - one year, and Mac Gomes - one year.
